10/8/2025

We are pleased to announce that our members, Naoya Iwata (Nagoya University) and Jun Ogawa (The University of Tokyo), will be speaking at a seminar hosted by the Waseda Institute for Advanced Study (WIAS) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
The seminar, titled “How to Build Education and Research in DH (Digital Humanities)?”, will discuss the future of DH, a field with the potential to significantly transform humanities research in the current era of advancing generative AI.
Naoya Iwata will give a presentation titled “AI Application Development by a Humanities Researcher: The Practice and Scope of Humanitext Antiqua,” where he will discuss a new horizon for research opened up by the fusion of humanistic knowledge and information technology, sharing practical examples from the AI platform for classical studies being developed in this project. Jun Ogawa will deliver a lecture on “The Potential of Knowledge Graphs and Linked Data in Humanities Research in the Age of Generative AI,” exploring the innovative possibilities that cutting-edge information technology brings to the humanities.
This is a valuable opportunity to reflect on the present and future of DH through the experiences of leading researchers in the field. We look forward to your participation.
